Four Chapel Hill Neighborhoods now designated as Neighborhood Conservation  Districts (NCD)

Since the Neighborhood Conservation concept was passed as part of Chapel Hill's Land Use Management Ordinance, four neighborhoods have been granted the designation: Northside, Greenwood, Kings Mill-Morgan Creek, and Pine Knolls.

Coker Hills and Mason Farm are next in line. 

NCD protection is an option that neighborhoods older than 25 years can seek to establish protections that will help them preserve their character.
